A WORD FROM THE PROVOST

Welcome to the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS). We are a theological institution of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, with campuses in Ndu and Kumba, located in the North-West and South-West Regions of Cameroon, respectively. Since its founding in 1947, CBTS has maintained an unwavering commitment to the inerrancy, sufficiency, and absolute authority of Holy Scripture as the inspired and infallible Word of God. We believe that God accomplishes the salvation and sanctification of His people through His Word. Consequently, we are committed to training Bible-saturated, Christ-centered, and Spirit-filled servants of God who faithfully proclaim and embody the truth of the Gospel.

CBTS is one of Africa’s leading evangelical theological institutions and is fully accredited by the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA). This accreditation affirms the quality and international recognition of our academic programs. Our mission is to provide theological education that is biblically grounded, academically rigorous, spiritually transformative, and practically relevant to the challenges and opportunities of ministry in the twenty-first century.

We offer a wide range of programs, from the Women’s Vocational Institute to graduate-level theological studies. Students may pursue specialized training in Biblical and Theological Studies, Pastoral Care and Counseling, World Missions and Intercultural Studies, Bible Translation and Applied Linguistics, Christian Education, and Church Music. Our graduate programs are designed to equip Christian leaders for effective ministry, scholarship, and service both within Africa and beyond. At CBTS, academic excellence and spiritual formation go hand in hand.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of theological education while fostering a vibrant community of worship, discipleShip, and ministry. Through strategic partnerships with respected theological institutions such as the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and Sioux Falls Seminary in the United States of America, we continue to strengthen our capacity to serve the Church and advance God’s Kingdom.

Our Ndu campus provides an ideal environment for theological study and personal growth. Situated in the beautiful highlands of Cameroon, Ndu offers a peaceful atmosphere, a welcoming community, and a climate that is conducive to learning and reflection. Students benefit from an environment that encourages both academic concentration and spiritual development.

As an institution whose motto is “Ambassadors for Christ,” we seek to provide the rigorous biblical, theological, and practical preparation necessary for faithful Christian service. We are committed to nurturing men and women who will represent Christ with integrity, conviction, humility, and excellence. Here, Jesus Christ is exalted, His Word is treasured, and His mission remains central to all that we do.

The faculty of CBTS consists of dedicated resident, adjunct, and visiting lecturers who combine academic competence with a deep love for Christ and His Church. They are committed not only to teaching but also to mentoring students, investing their lives in the formation of future pastors, missionaries, educators, counselors, translators, and Christian leaders.

If God is calling you to serve Him through ministry, missions, theological education, or Christian leadership, we invite you to consider joining the CBTS family. We would count it a privilege to walk alongside you as you prepare to fulfill God’s calling upon your life. Together, let us pursue the apostolic charge: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

We look forward to welcoming you to Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary.
