A WORD FROM OUR PROVOST

We welcome you to the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS). We are an institution of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, with campuses at Ndu and Kumba, respectively, in the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon. Founded in 1947, CBTS has a standing tradition of commitment to the inerrancy and absolute authority of Scripture as the infallible Word of God. We believe that God uses His Word for the salvation and sanctification of mankind. As such, we are committed to training Bible-saturated, Christ-centered, and Spirit-filled Bible expositors who will honor Jesus by faithfully preaching and living out His word.

CBTS is one of the outstanding theological institutions in Cameroon, Fully Accredited by the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA). Therefore, CBTS has international recognition. Certificates obtained from CBTS are recognized by accredited theological institutions worldwide. Our programs provide the best of theological education that can stand all the context-based challenges of ministry and life in the 21st Century. We offer programs from the Women’s Vocational Institute to the Master’s level. We offer specializations in Biblical and Theological Studies, Pastoral Care and Counseling, World Missions and Intercultural Studies, Bible Translation and Applied Linguistics, Christian Education, and Church Music. Our Master’s program is divided into two streams: the Master of Arts Program (3 years) for those who hold a bachelor’s degree from a secular university, and the Master of Arts Program (2 years) for those who hold a bachelor’s degree from a theological institution. We are committed to spiritual and academic excellence and to ensuring that accreditation standards are stringently adhered to. CBTS benefits from strong partnerships with some of the best seminaries in Africa and North America, e.g., the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary,  Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and Sioux Falls Seminary in the United States of America, just to mention a few. 

Ndu Town, where CBTS is situated, is a very conducive environment for studying and has everything you need to study comfortably. The climate is cold, with two seasons: the dry and rainy seasons. It is indeed a welcoming environment and you will not regret living in Ndu for your studies. It is our privilege to serve you if you have sensed God’s calling on your life to proclaim His word. We will give you the training you need in order to fulfill that calling. Conscious of the fact that we are training Ambassadors for Christ, which is our motto, we seek to provide the most rigorous academic and spiritual preparation you need in order to represent Jesus in a worthy manner. This is done in an atmosphere where Jesus Christ is loved and worshiped above all as the Son of God. We are thus a community committed to excellence in our love, worship, and service of God. At CBTS, you will be called upon to “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). 

CBTS is blessed with the best resident, part-time, and visiting faculty who are men and women who love Jesus and are committed to training men and women to influence the world for Him.
