Libraries
A growing print and digital library open from 8:00 to 22:00 on all school days, and open to the public in keeping with library policy.
Computer laboratory
Used for computer classes and open to students for typing assignments at no extra cost, closing at 22:00.
Restaurant and store
A well-furnished restaurant at the Student Centre with varied dishes at moderate prices, and a general provision store.
Child Care Centre
Care for the pre-nursery children of students and staff, alongside a nursery school and a well-staffed primary school.
Sports
Playgrounds for various sporting activities, with Wednesday afternoons reserved for sports.
Rest house
Accommodation for CBC personnel coming for ministry in the Donga Mantung Division, plus a student guest room.
Campus spiritual life
Daily chapel. Chapel convenes daily and attendance is mandatory. It is meant to help us worship God and proclaim His excellencies in Jesus Christ.
Devotions and prayer partners. The Dean of Spiritual Life sets up a daily devotional programme. At the beginning of the year students choose a prayer partner, men with men and women with women, meeting at least once a week.
Church membership. CBTS is an important part of the church but is not a local church itself, so all community members hold membership in local churches and register that membership with the Dean of Spiritual Life.
Retreats and prayer days. The academic year opens with a prayer retreat, culminating in a joint Communion Vespers service. Each semester begins with days set aside for prayer.
Music. Music groups include the CBTS Choir and the French Choir, and the annual Praise Festival ushers in the Christmas season in music.
Housing and community
The Seminary provides housing on campus for both singles and couples. All single students live on campus unless authorised otherwise; only Master of Arts students may be exempted. Housing space is limited and allocation is made by the Housing Committee.
For the couples’ dormitories, a maximum of five persons per family is allowed, with children not older than thirteen. Students are not allowed to host guests in the dormitories; the Students’ Rest House is provided for that.
The campus day begins at 5:30 and ends at 22:30. Evening prep is required for Certificate and Diploma students living on campus from 19:00 to 22:00 on school days.
The compound is kept healthy through planned community works. Regular community work holds every Tuesday from 16:30, and students keep their dormitories and surrounding areas clean, with intensive cleaning each Friday.
Appearance and conduct
Good grooming is practised by everyone at all times, and modesty and decency are observed by all. Bathing slippers and rubber shoes are not worn to class or chapel.
On special designated days all students wear the basic CBTS uniform: a black suit, purple long-sleeved shirt, black belt, black socks, black shoes and a golden yellow neck tie. The women’s uniform is a straight-styled black skirt with black, closed, low-heeled shoes.
Telephones are not allowed in classes. A teacher will send out any student whose phone rings or who is found using a phone, and that student is marked absent.
